Project
Pop Up Museum
House of Nifty (HON) created a pop-up exhibition featuring a T-shaped structure designed to showcase digital art in an innovative and immersive way. This structure served as the foundation for displaying various pieces of digital art, featuring a mesh-like framework that provided a transparent, see-through experience, allowing the art to be viewed from multiple angles and perspectives.
To improve the sustainability and eco-friendliness of the exhibition, HON utilised Upframe.art screens, which are crafted from recycled computer screens and recycled acrylic. These screens not only contributed to the environmentally conscious aspect of the project but also offered high-quality displays that highlighted the intricate details and vibrant colours of the digital artworks.
The pop-up museum structure itself was an original creation by HON, designed and shared under a Creative Commons Zero (CC0) license. Made of metal, this structure can likely be fabricated by any local welder, making it accessible and reproducible. The blueprints and design plans are freely available to the public, encouraging others to replicate, modify, and use the structure for their own exhibitions and events. HON is excited to contribute to the open-source community and hopes that the design will inspire and facilitate more creative art displays around the world.
